    Natural gas is highly susceptible to leaks during production, storage, transportation, and distribution. It is colorless and odorless, making it difficult to detect visually. Once leaked, it can easily cause severe safety hazards, such as fires and explosions. Detecting leaks at sealed points can be challenging, and inspectors often come into close contact with leaking gases, increasing the risk of accidents and casualties. Gas leak detection thermal imagers offer significant advantages, including uninterrupted operation, high efficiency, long-distance detection, large coverage, and dynamic, intuitive visualization. Detecting flammable gas leaks (e.g., natural gas) has become a typical application of infrared thermal imaging gas detection technology.

    Chemical plants, underground operations, mining, and high-voltage substations also face gas leak risks and require gas detection. The challenge is that most leaking gases are colorless, odorless, and sometimes toxic or explosive. They are difficult to detect by eye, and by the time a leak is noticed, it may have already caused a severe incident, resulting in economic loss or casualties. Using a gas leak detection thermal imager can quickly and accurately detect these gas leaks, helping to ensure worker safety and equipment functionality.

    GF320 - Gas Leak Detection Thermal Imager

    The GF320 utilizes a high-precision cooled infrared detector for remote, non-contact infrared imaging. It is primarily used in applications involving natural gas distribution pipelines, petroleum, petrochemical, chemical plants, metallurgy, and power industries where gas leaks are likely. It is also ideal for key VOC emissions industries such as petrochemical, chemical, industrial coating, packaging, printing, and oil storage, transport, and distribution. The GF320 allows for rapid, long-distance, and large-scale screening of leak points.

    The device includes video recording, photography, and voice recording functions, making it convenient for on-site evidence collection during regulatory inspections. Certified by authoritative bodies with an explosion-proof certificate, the GF320 is safe for use in explosion-prone environments.

    The GF320 is highly versatile and adaptable for measuring various gases (e.g., CO₂, N₂O, CO, SF₆). By simply selecting the appropriate detector, the same hardware can measure different gases, demonstrating exceptional expandability.

    INSTRUMENT FUNCTIONALITY

    1. Rapid, Long-Range Detection of Volatile Organic Compound (VOC) Leaks and Unauthorized Emissions: The device provides long-distance, visual, and fast identification of emission sources, especially suitable for elevated sources.

    2. Real-Time Leak Monitoring Without Equipment Shutdown: It enables quick gas leak detection without needing to shut down machinery.

    WORKING PRINCIPLE

    The gas detection infrared thermal imager uses infrared radiation imaging technology. As illustrated below, the imager’s focal plane infrared detector is equipped with a specialized filter and cooler. Based on the absorption band of the target gas, different wavelength filters and cooling temperatures are selected. The system captures infrared radiation emitted by objects through its lens and filter. The detector converts this radiation into electrical signals, which are processed to display the location and diffusion direction of leaks in real time on the monitor.
