Optosky Participates in the 1st Malaysia Near Infrared Spectroscopy Meeting (MNIRSM 2026)

Strengthening Regional Collaboration in Spectroscopy Research and Application
 

From 14 to 15 September 2026, Optosky took part in the 1st Malaysia Near Infrared Spectroscopy Meeting (MNIRSM 2026), hosted by the School of Physics at Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in Penang. Serving as a principal sponsor and co-organising partner, Optosky joined researchers, academic institutions, and industry representatives from across the region for two days of technical exchange centred on advancing spectroscopic research and its practical applications.
 

01  Bridging Spectroscopy Research and Industrial Application

The meeting convened experts working across near-infrared spectroscopy, hyperspectral imaging, chemometrics, Raman spectroscopy, FTIR, and UV-Vis-NIR technologies, alongside broader developments in optical sensing and photonics. Discussions examined the growing role of spectroscopic techniques in agriculture and food science, environmental monitoring, biomedical research, advanced materials development, and industrial quality analysis, underscoring the field's expanding relevance to both academic inquiry and real-world industrial demands.

02  Technical Exchange and Direct Engagement with the Research Community

As part of the programme, the Optosky delegation delivered a technical presentation on hyperspectral imaging and its integration with AI-enabled analytical methods. The meeting's accompanying workshops, equipment demonstrations, and laboratory visits provided further opportunities for direct engagement with researchers and prospective collaborators from Malaysia and the broader Southeast Asian academic community.

03  Supporting the Development of a Regional Spectroscopy Ecosystem

Optosky's participation in MNIRSM 2026 reflected a broader commitment to the development of spectroscopy research and application in Southeast Asia. Beyond enhancing the company's visibility within the regional scientific community, the event offered valuable insight into emerging research priorities and potential avenues for aligning Optosky's technologies with future academic and applied projects.
