Optosky & USM School of Physics Forge Strategic Partnership
2026-05-06
April 23, 2026 – We are proud to announce that Optosky has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the School of Physics, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) – the second‑ranked higher education institution in Malaysia.
The signing ceremony took place upon the invitation of Dean Professor of USM’s School of Physics. Together, we officially established the USM–Optosky Joint Laboratory, marking the beginning of a comprehensive collaboration in:
Spectroscopy analysis
Agricultural spectroscopy
Optical communications
This partnership covers four key pillars:
Joint Laboratory – Co‑building a state‑of‑the‑art spectroscopy demonstration and research center at USM.
International Research Funding – Collaborating on Malaysian, Chinese, and bilateral science & technology grant applications.
Student Internships – Offering remote and on‑site opportunities for undergraduate, master’s and PhD students in R&D, optical engineering, AI algorithms, and application testing.
Joint R&D – Developing solutions tailored for Southeast Asia, including semiconductor materials testing, tropical agriculture monitoring (e.g., oil palm disease detection), and environmental sensing.
This collaboration reflects our shared vision to advance photonics technologies and nurture the next generation of innovators. We look forward to working closely with USM faculty and students to turn research into real‑world impact.
Stay tuned for more updates from the USM–Optosky Joint Laboratory!
