Today, I want to share not some distant concept, but a mature and practical technology that is profoundly changing the way we grow crops—multispectral sensing. It may not be as comprehensive as its "brother," hyperspectral sensing, but it focuses on key areas, providing a highly cost-effective solution for smart agriculture.
    I. Challenge: Beyond experience, what else do we need?
    • Agricultural cultivation has accumulated countless wisdoms over thousands of years. However, today, experience alone is insufficient to meet the challenges of large-scale, refined management.
    • "This patch looks a bit yellow. Is it lacking water or fertilizer?"
    • "Can we only spray the affected rows of plants instead of covering the entire field?"
    • How to objectively assess the production potential of different plots of land?
    • The core of these problems lies in the lack of a quantitative and visualized global understanding of crop growth status. We need to transcend the limitations of the human eye and see the "digital expression" of crop health.

II. Core: Multispectral Analysis—Capturing "Key Health Signals" in Crops
    • Multispectral technology was developed for this purpose. Unlike the human eye, which only perceives "color" as a whole, it directly reflects the core physiological indicators of crops by separating several to dozens of key, discrete spectral bands (such as the red-edge band, which is sensitive to chlorophyll, and the near-infrared band, which is sensitive to water).
    • Simply put, it's like an experienced "traditional Chinese medicine doctor" who uses a few key diagnostic steps in "observation, auscultation, inquiry, and palpation" (rather than a full-body scan) to quickly and accurately determine the "health status" and "nutritional balance" of a crop.
    • Optosky's mission is to integrate this diagnostic capability into a series of reliable and easy-to-use hardware products:
Online multispectral monitoring: like a "farmland inspector", it can quickly obtain vegetation index maps (such as NDVI) of large areas of fields, clearly showing differences in growth, seedling emergence rate, and lodging areas, and guide variable operations.

Handheld multispectral analyzer: acting as a "field scout," agricultural technicians can measure locations anytime, anywhere, and instantly obtain data such as relative chlorophyll content and nitrogen status to provide precise guidance.

Online sorting and monitoring system: In the post-harvest stage, it uses specific wavelengths to efficiently identify defects and grade quality, thereby enhancing the value of agricultural products.
III. Value: Precise measures lead to visible cost reduction and efficiency improvement.
    • Technology comes alive by solving practical problems. Multispectral data is directly driving changes in agricultural decision-making:
    • Variable-rate fertilization and irrigation: In a 10,000-mu wheat demonstration area in North China, our multispectral drones generate growth difference maps, which, combined with prescription map technology, enable on-demand allocation of fertilizer and irrigation amounts. Practice has shown that, under the same yield target, fertilizer application can be reduced by 5-10%, and water resource utilization efficiency can be significantly improved.
    • Targeted pest and disease control: By identifying crop stress areas caused by pests and diseases (usually manifested as declining growth), the target area for pesticide application can be accurately delineated, avoiding full-field spraying and reducing pesticide use by about 8%, which protects the environment and saves costs.
    • Yield forecasting and harvest planning: On large farms, multispectral monitoring of crop growth stages can be used to build yield forecasting models, providing early data support for storage, logistics and sales planning.

Concept: To make precision agriculture a universally beneficial tool.
    • We understand that for a technology to take root in agriculture, it must be precise, easy to use, and cost-effective. Multispectral technology is a key choice we made after a deep understanding of the real needs of agriculture. It balances performance, cost, and reliability, enabling most agricultural operators to take the first step towards precision management.
    • The blueprint for precision agriculture is slowly unfolding. Multispectral technology, as a solid and bright element within this framework, has already demonstrated immense practical value. Optimum Technology looks forward to collaborating with more growers, cooperatives, agricultural service providers, and research partners to explore how to use smarter "eyes" to protect the fertility of every piece of land.
The NY3300PRO is a visible light 6-band multispectral agricultural detector, employing a four-lens, multi-detector design with six bands: 450nm, 560nm, 660nm, 720nm, 750nm, and 800nm (850nm). Users can freely select each channel according to application needs, performing calculations to obtain the required spectral information. This flexibility makes the camera suitable for various agricultural, environmental monitoring, and resource management tasks.
    END
Whether used for crop monitoring, soil analysis, or vegetation cover assessment, the NY3300PRO provides accurate spectral information and rich data support. It can monitor crop growth status and health, including indicators such as nutrient levels, chlorophyll content, and growth rate. Simultaneously, it can provide plot-level change information, helping to assess the growth conditions of different plots and achieve precision agricultural management. In soil quality assessment, multispectral technology can reveal the content of organic matter, moisture, salinity, and nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium in the soil, providing data support for precision fertilization and irrigation management. Furthermore, it can identify crop pests and diseases, including lesions and leaf damage caused by insects, helping to detect and control them promptly, reducing pesticide use and lowering production costs.
