Application case | Application of GY1000 moisture analyzer in wine making industry
Wine is the most common drink in the world, and every country has its own representative wine. Our country is one of the earliest countries in the world to make wine, and its wine culture and wine-making history have a long history. China's winemaking industry has a wide variety of wines and a collection of famous wines, which are well-known both at home and abroad. Liquor, as China's national liquor, is mainly made of grains such as sorghum, wheat, and corn. It needs to go through several steps of material selection, fermentation, distillation, and aging, all of which are indispensable. In the wine-making process, the moisture content of distiller's grains is an important factor affecting the quality and taste of liquor, so testing the moisture content of distiller's grains is also a necessary part of the wine-making process.
Currently, commonly used moisture content detection methods include drying method, titration method, instrumental analysis method, etc. Most of these methods have the disadvantages of cumbersome operation, slow detection speed, and the inability of real-time monitoring in offline testing. In order to solve these problems, Optosky combines industry characteristics and detection material characteristics to launch the GY1000 online near-infrared moisture analyzer. The GY1000 near-infrared online moisture analyzer is a real-time, non-contact measurement system for materials that uses near-infrared spectroscopy technology, using an optimized optical system and complete signal processing technology and algorithms, and supporting network linkage functions with other industrial equipment, further improving the intelligence of industrial production. Combined with the spectral analysis technology accumulated by Optosky for many years, it can provide users with a new generation of leading online moisture detection solutions.
Working principle and process results of GY1000 online near-infrared moisture analyzer

Water shows strong absorption characteristics for some specific wavelengths of infrared light (as shown on the below). When a material is irradiated with infrared light of these specific wavelengths, the water contained in the material will absorb part of the infrared light energy. The more water it contains, the more energy it contains. The more absorption there is, so the reduction in reflected light can be measured to calculate the moisture content of the material. Based on the above principles, GY1000 was developed using the more widely used diffuse reflection theory of water.

Optosky has fully absorbed the pain points of the industry and deeply explored customer needs. GY1000 is the first in China to adopt dual cooling imported lead sulfide detectors, with 4 wavelengths and 8 beam technology, supplemented by Optosky's many years of photoelectric accumulation, aiming to create a domestic leading near-infrared online moisture content meter, GY1000 optical path principle is shown in the figure below.

First, a calibration operation is performed, an appropriate amount of distiller's grains sample is weighed and dried, and the characteristic value X is measured under the instrument probe, and the data of each drying is recorded. After repeated operations, the final moisture content is calculated. Then the calibration of the instrument is completed through linear fitting of the data algorithm.
Then install the instrument probe at the appropriate position on the distiller's grains conveyor belt in the wine production line.
Finally, by connecting the instrument, the moisture content of the distiller’s grains can be measured directly.

After actual testing in the winery, the distiller's grains test calibration showed high data matching and good linear trend during the segmented fitting process. The deviation between the measured moisture content value and the value verified by the drying method is small, and it is more suitable for online analysis and testing of the wine making production line in wineries.
In addition to supporting the online detection of distiller's grains in wine production lines, GY1000 is currently also widely used in tobacco, grain and oil, coal, daily chemicals, papermaking and other industries.
