Application of Fieldspec in Soil Salinization

Soil salinization is an important limiting factor for agricultural development, ecological security and sustainable land use. Fast and accurate acquisition of regional soil salinization and its geographic distribution information is the premise of rational control and utilization of salinization soil. The traditional method of soil salinization mapping is time-consuming and laborious. Ground-based approaches, such as the electromagnetic induction meter approach, may not meet the time requirements of regional monitoring. Due to the wide availability of remote sensing data from different sensors and platforms, soil salinity inversion based on multi-source remote sensing data fusion is becoming a reality.
The soil samples were naturally air-dried, crushed, and mixed evenly. Soil and water were used to prepare the extract, and the total salt content of soil was determined. An ATP9110-25 spectrometer with a wavelength range of 350-2500 nm was used to measure the spectral characteristics of air-dried soil samples in laboratory. The model based on spectral characteristics can predict soil salinity in the study area .
It can not only promote the high-precision, large-area and rapid acquisition of regional soil salinity, but also have important significance for understanding and controlling salinized soil and sustainable agricultural development in the study area .
