In the last post we mentioned that TOC detected Dry method (high temperature catalytic oxidation method), Wet method (ultraviolet persulfate oxidation method).Conductivity method Here's a specific look at these three methods.
1、Dry method (high temperature catalytic oxidation method)
Dry method: The sample to be tested is heated into the cracking furnace at high temperature, and the organic matter is decomposed into CO2. The generated CO2 is detected by the non-dispersed infrared detector (NDIR). This method is applicable to the detection of high organic matter concentration, which is generally used for water pollution or sewage discharge.
Features: Features: thorough oxidation, short analysis time, suitable for the analysis of high concentration samples, but the catalyst will be poisoned, not suitable for low concentration samples.
This method recommends the use of the Optosky's instrument, the —— TOC-2000.
2、Wet method (ultraviolet persulfate oxidation method)
Wet method: The sample to be tested and persulfate decompose the organic matter into CO2 by ultraviolet light irradiation under low temperature conditions, and the generated CO2 enters the non-dispersed infrared detector (NDIR) detection after drying steps. This method is generally applicable to the detection of low organic matter concentration, and medical water is generally used in this method.
Features: can analyze low concentration TOC, difficult to analyze high concentration TOC, the analysis time is longer.
This method recommends the use of the Optosky's instrument, the —— TOC-3000.
3、Conductivity method
After the water sample enters the instrument, the shunt is divided into the TIC through the carbon dioxide sensor 3 through the delay coil 4, the other passes through the spiral quartz glass tube 1, and the organic matter in the water is catalytically decomposed into carbon dioxide under the irradiation of the UV lamp 2, and enters the conductivity sensor 3. Total organic carbon can be calculated by this difference: TOC = TC-TIC, and finally the waste liquid flows out from the discharge pipe through the peristaltic pump 5.

Conductivity detector: the carbon dioxide generated by the oxidation of organic matter produces a weak ionization reaction with water, generating the bicarbonate ion and hydrogen ion, which increases the conductivity of water. The increased conductivity characterized the concentration of CO 2.
This method recommends the use of Optosky's instrument, the —— TOC-1700.
The above are Optosky instruments developed by Dry method (high temperature catalytic oxidation method), Wet method (ultraviolet persulfate oxidation method) and Conductivity method. And the application field is also very wide.
Application area
TOC-2000 is widely used in the quality control of drinking water, industrial water, domestic sewage and production wastewater, as well as in the monitoring of rivers, lakes, oceans and surface water. It is also widely used in the fields of medicine, medicine, biochemical technology, laboratory and hydropower station.
TOC-3000 is widely used in the quality control of pharmaceutical water, clean verification, injection water, purification water, domestic drinking water and its source water, and it is widely used in the fields of medicine, medicine, biochemical technology, laboratory and hydropower station.
TOC-1700 can be used to test the organic carbon content of pure water, pharmaceutical industry water water and injection water; for TOC detection in semiconductor industry, power plant, scientific research unit, laboratory; 1700 can monitor the water system of pharmaceutical industry, pure water preparation system and chip process of semiconductor industry, power plant water preparation process online.
